Crystal Cove -- March 13, 2010

Our day started at the Orange County Council Office picking up Scout-O-Rama tickets for this year. For those of you who haven't been to one in your area, I highly suggest checking it out. We thought to only be there an hour or so and ended up staying 4 hours last year.

Just after lunch we picked up Dimitri's friend and headed out to Crystal Cove State Park for the Tide Pool Tour. Turns out the tide was the farthest our it's been in a while during the day. Crazy! The tide started coming in while we were looking around the pools. Again, we saw some really cool sea life.

Our little group of adventurists.
Not sure what this is except that it is some kind of seaweed.

Muscles with barnacles on them. These were everywhere making it very difficult to walk.

Ochre Starfish. We were taking pictures of this when the tide started coming in. Almost got stranded on the rock.

Black Sea Hare... That's what the brochure said. Looks more like a slug to me.

The starfish looks big and the snail does look like a slug! What an exciting day.
