After combing out his hair the stylist pulled it back into two ponytails and he is all ready to get sheared. He was very excited not at all nervous. Then...

Well, I was sad to see it go but he loves his new 'do. And he doesn't get called a girl anymore. That, for him, was the best part.
Well, with the flip at the end there is 7 1/2 inches but straightened out it is 8 inches. Just enough to send to the Children with Hairloss.
