Bridging!!!
On March 5, 2012, our son earned his Arrow of Light (the highest rank in Cub Scouting), bridged into Troop 606, and went to his first troop meeting. Whew! The ceremony was pretty great. We started off with awards for all the scouts. Our son received the remainder of the activity pins he had earned. This included his next compass point as well. He also earned his Arrow of Light patch which we will be sewing on his Class A scout uniform. After this Troop 606 Senior Patrol Leader and one of the Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders bridged him into the troop. They replaced his cub scout blue epaulets with the boy scout olive green epaulets, gave him the official Troop 606 neckerchief, and took him aside for a private talk. We presented him with his new boy scout manual. After this was finished we had a couple of the members of Order of the Arrow perform for us. They did three dances including a dance that had the scouts, siblings, and parents participating. After this concluded we got the pack working on their "Game Night" with my hubby and I took our son to his first troop meeting where he was introduced to his patrol and initiated in to it. Even though it was a busy night it was a great night.
Congratulations Dimitrios!
