American Indian Day at Dee's School
Today Nana, Papa, and I visited Dimitrios' school for American Indian Day. I did a little presentation (Jeff had to work) for the class. We had Jeff's regalia, some bead work, jewelry, talking stick, drum, flute, and my photo album on making maple sugar. I started by introducing the "talking stick" and having the kids hold it when they were answering a question or asking a question. The talk went really well and the students had some great questions. They asked questions like... What did they eat? What did their houses look like? What did they wear? What were their jobs? What were their clothes made out of? It was lots of fun.
