Fall Hike

This was an interesting day. We gathered at one of the parking lots near the trail on Shady Canyon Road. Here is most of the pack and their families ready to go. We made sure every one had sun screen, water, and a hat.
This is Dimitri heading up the trail. He was way behind because he was trying to put something in his pocket and he had to stop to do it. He did catch up. In the background you can see the smoke from the fire in Yorba Linda.

We stopped partway up for a water break and to let the stragglers catch up.
Making sure everyone kept going forward and didn't fall behind.

Here are the wolves and tiger. The bears had already taken off to a gazebo at the top of a hill.

Cacti hanging out on the side of the trail.

Heading back down the trail. Some of the younger kids were starting to go slower and were tired. We had to keep encouraging a couple of them. Most of the kids did really good.

This is the Yorba Linda/Anaheim Hills fire we saw on our way back.

Looks like a beautiful hike - nice skies, except for the smoke from the fire. The path looks well groomed and the cacti look sharp!! Congratulations on finishing, too.

D-man,
It looks like you're having a great time in your Pack. Your Dad was a stragler also. You'll learn to "Be Prepared" soon enough. I'll see you in nine days. Can't wait.
