Garden 2009

Jeff and Dee started a garden again this year. Most of our plans are in pots but we did move some from the front of the house where they were a bit overgrown to the side. We also have a lot of planters on the back deck where the sun is the best. I need to find more plant stands...
These plants were moved from the front part of the house after Jeff and Dee hauled a bunch of dirt to fill this in. It is looking pretty good.

Here are several of the potted plants on the back deck. The plant on the left is a cucumber. It went totally crazy and is covering up my thyme. We also have basil, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers (I think), chives, sweet grass, and some other things (don't remember off the top of my head).

This is one of the planted areas in the atrium. We have eggplant, watermelon, beans, and onions growing here.

These are also in the atrium but they are in pots. The pot on the stand has strawberries in it and the other, very large pot is an artichoke. You can't see it in this picture but there is actually an artichoke on the plant! It is about the size of a golf ball at the moment.

We have tomatoes hanging on the plant in a pot in the atrium.

This is the pot with the tomato plant in the atrium. The picture of the little tomato is from this plant. We have found the tomatoes actually grow better in pots with potting soil than in the ground. They don't really do anything if you plant them directly in the ground.
