On the Road--Day 1
We headed out of Michigan at about 9 am after cramming the car with all our gear. Our first stop was to check a funny rattling noise on the roof (turned out to be something sitting on the roof between the topper and the roof). Fixed the rattle... On the road again. Lunch was a quick stop at Subway somewhere between Joliet and Springfield, IL. About an hour out of St. Louis, MO we called a couple KOAs (one in Eureka and one in Stanton) to find out availability. Both hat sites available. We opted to go as far as Stanton. Found out that the Meramec Caves where Jesse James gang hid were just down the road from the campground.
Saw a very cool moth that was black with white spots sitting on the fence when we checked in. Set up camp and decided we didn't feel like cooking ourselves so we had dinner at the campground clubhouse. Jeff and I had pulled pork and Dimitrios had ribs. Each dinner, which was very good, came with corn, baked beans, dilled potato salad, and Texas toast. Now we are getting ready to look around a bit. We'll try to post more later.

This is a bit of a challenge to leave a message. I had to enter a bunch of stuff. Any how, it was nice to hear you had a safe trip your first day. I hope you have a good trip today if you see anything interesting take a pic. Take care and tell Dee and Jeff hello. xoxo T
