On the Road -- Day Three
This morning started a bit slower than we would have liked. We did, however, have an excellent breakfast. We were quickly into Texas and saw some very large landmarks including a giant cross, a windmill farm, and several ranches. The landscape was otherwise very flat and somewhat nondescript. When we first arrived in New Mexico it was the same drab landscape but the farther we got toward Albuquerque the more we saw large buttes thrusting up from the ground. When we went through the mountains it was even more beautiful. We stopped again for the night and opted for a hotel. Again the heat was a bit much.
The Texas landscape... Very flat and vast.
The mountains in New Mexico. At one point we were at 8000 feet above sea level.
Eventually the mountains gave way to red buttes.
