Disneyland in June

When Grandma and Grandpa came they took Dee to Disneyland for his birthday. He had loads of fun. His favorite place was the Jedi Training Academy where he graduated from a youngling to a padawan by fighting Darth Mal. He has the moves memorized and is planning to practice so he can beat the dark side again.

This is the class that graduated with Dee.

Say HI to R2D2 who was causing all kinds of trouble in the Star Tours ride.

Aboard the Columbia. A ship that shows what life at sea was like. If you go belowdecks you will see where the captain and his mates slept, the galley where the food was cooked and stored, where weapons were kept, and where everything needed to run the ship was stored. Dee found the weapons the "coolest."

Sleeping Beauty's castle. Not nearly as tall as Cinderella's from this distance but grand nonetheless.

We hopped the train for a quick trip from Frontierland over to "It's a Small World."

While we waited in line for the ride we got to see the clock open a couple times. We also saw bushes that were cut into several animal shapes. The moose sticks out the most and one of the animals had a small lizard crawling around on it. This is the one of the first rides I remember from our time here in 1985.

Dee and Jeff went into Tarzan's tree house while we waited at the bottom. They said the attempted to get our attention from the top but there were too many people and too much noise for us to hear them. Oh well.

Here we are waiting behind the barrier for the Nightastic show to start. They always have lots of boats, great acts, and lots of explosions. It was a great end to a very long but exciting day.
